For those who blaze new trails of wellness and adventure.

The Wanderlust Wellness Escape is a carefully curated experience blending movement, mindfulness, adventure, and cultural immersion across two very different — yet deeply complementary — destinations.

This isn’t about just ticking boxes or rushing through places.
It’s for the seekers.
The movers.
The ones who crave both adventure and stillness.

Part Two: Sumba - The path less travelled

Sumba is where the magic deepens (Just a 1.5 hour domestic flight from Bali)

Remote, raw, and breathtakingly beautiful, Sumba remains one of Indonesia’s most untouched islands — a place where time slows and nature leads.

What makes Sumba so special:

  • One of the last untouched frontiers of Indonesia (like stepping completely back in time)

  • Dramatic landscapes, waterfalls & coastline

  • Strong cultural traditions, amazingly friendly locals who run out to greet you

  • A deep sense of presence and simplicity

Your Sumba experience includes:

  • Exclusive 5 star resort buy-out accommodation (limited to 6 rooms total)

  • Full board meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) delicious farm to table conscious dining

  • Invigorating morning yoga, movement & breathwork sessions (changing daily so you’ll never get bored)

  • Grounding evening practices

  • On demand ice bath & steam room (use anytime, completely free of charge)

  • Unbelievable waterfall excursions and nature immersion - think swimming with horses and swimming in crystal clear waterfalls like nothing you’ve seen before

  • In-house spa for massages & relaxation

  • Space for reflection, integration & rest

  • A true feeling of being away from it all

This is where we disconnect to reconnect — integrating the journey, the practices, and the transformation.

Meet your host

Courtney Chambers

Hi, I’m Courtney — founder of Holistic Escapes, 525-hour certified yoga teacher, mum to a busy little human, ex-flight attendant, and lifelong traveller who traded constant movement for more mindful, meaningful journeys.

I’ve been travelling to Bali since I was young, and over the years I’ve learned how to experience the island beyond the tourist traps, curating the kind of moments that make you feel connected rather than rushed. From hidden cafés to soul-soothing nature, I love crafting trips that feel personal, easeful, and deeply nourishing.

And then came Sumba, a place that absolutely blew my mind. It felt like what discovering Bali might have been like in the 60s: raw, untouched, wild, and profoundly alive. Being there reminded me why I fell in love with travel in the first place.

After years in the air as a flight attendant, I hit burnout. I was helping others chase experiences while becoming disconnected from my own. Yoga became my anchor, a way back to presence, breath, and balance, especially through motherhood. It’s from that place that I now create retreats: spacious, soulful, and full of aliveness.

I’ve since led retreats across Australia, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Bali — blending adventure, cultural immersion, and the restorative power of yoga and connection. These retreats aren’t about “fixing” yourself. They’re about remembering who you are, softening into your essence, and letting travel change you in the best possible way.

If you’re craving inspiration, adventure, community, and a deeper connection to yourself, I’d love to guide you through Bali and Sumba — two places that have shaped me and continue to work their quiet magic on everyone who visits.
