Journey Introduction

Over 8 unforgettable days, we travel from salt-kissed coastlines to misty mountain peaks, lush tea country, and ancient cultural heartlands.

We rise with the sun for movement and breathwork, then dive into the sacred and spectacular — from the soaring Sigiriya Rock Fortress to the serene cave temples of Dambulla, and onward through misty highlands on Sri Lanka’s iconic train route. Along the way, we’ll meet wild elephants, hike lush trails, and share Ayurvedic flavours and spiritual rituals that have shaped this island for millennia.

This is travel that moves you — through landscapes, culture, and something deeper within yourself.

Immersive Experiences

Sri Lanka isn’t somewhere you simply visit — it’s something you feel.

A journey of sacred sites, untamed terrain, timeless traditions, iconic train routes, wild encounters, and Ayurvedic nourishment.

Each day flows effortlessly between:

• Soulful immersion in culture, nature, and history
• Mindful movement to ground your experience
• Ample space for rest, reflection, and restoration

You’ll explore five UNESCO World Heritage sites, wander through tea-draped highlands, watch the sun rise over ancient rock fortresses, and witness wildlife in its natural rhythm.

But you won’t rush.

There is space to integrate.

Space to breathe.

Space to actually experience where you are.

Wellness:

Wellness isn’t an add-on here — it’s woven into every day.

Each day begins with intentional movement — sunrise yoga, breathwork, grounding practices, and mindful strength sessions designed to support your body as you move through this land.

This is about regulation and integration.

So your body stays balanced.
Your heart stays open.
Your mind stays present.

Most journeys leave you exhilarated but exhausted.

This one is crafted differently.

Movement and stillness are woven into your itinerary so your energy remains steady, your body supported, and your experience embodied.

This is the Holistic Escapes difference:

You don’t just see Sri Lanka.
You move with it.
You breathe with it.
You leave changed by it.

Where you’ll stay

Your accommodation is every bit as special as the landscapes you explore. Each hotel has been hand-picked for its location, atmosphere, comfort, and sense of place.

From the lagoon-side calm of Jetwing Lagoon Wellness Negombo to sweeping jungle vistas at Aliya Resort & Hotel in Sigiriya, the misty tea-country retreat at 98 Acres in Ella, and the historic charm of Merchant Galle Fort — every night feels like a continuation of the day’s experience.

Here you’ll rest with intention, unwind with comfort, and let the landscape be your lullaby.

Hi I’m Courtney - and this retreat is my love letter to the island.

Founder of Holistic Escapes and your guide on this journey. What began as burnout became a quiet return to presence — to intentional movement, deeper awareness, and travel that nourishes rather than depletes.

Over the past several years, I’ve led retreats across Australia, Bali, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka, guiding hundreds of guests through experiences designed not just for escape — but for reconnection. My work weaves exploration with the restorative power of yoga, meditation, pilates and nervous system–led practices, so that every place you visit is not only seen, but truly felt.

Sri Lanka holds a particular magic for me — its rhythm, warmth, and layered history have a way of softening you while awakening something steady and strong within. This retreat is an invitation to experience the island deeply: to move with it, breathe with it, and remember who you are beneath the noise.

Not to change yourself — but to return to yourself.

Read the FAQs

What level of support will I have on retreat?

A dedicated guide and local support team are with you throughout — for logistics, wellbeing, and any questions along the way.

Is this retreat suitable for all fitness levels?

Yes. While this journey includes sightseeing, light hikes, and daily movement practices, everything is designed to be accessible and supportive. You don’t need to be “advanced” in yoga or particularly athletic — just open to moving your body and exploring at a steady, enjoyable pace.

Options are always offered, and you’re encouraged to listen to your body throughout.

Do I need to have practiced yoga or pilates before?

Not at all. Our movement sessions are intentionally inclusive. Whether you’re brand new or returning to your mat after a break, you’ll be guided with clarity and care.

This retreat is less about perfect poses and more about presence, regulation, and feeling grounded in your body.

Will there be a lot of travel between locations?

Sri Lanka is beautifully diverse, which means we journey through different regions — coastlines, highlands, cultural heartlands. Transfers are thoughtfully planned and fully coordinated so you can relax and enjoy the scenery.

Travel days are balanced with movement and rest, so the rhythm never feels rushed.

Is this retreat only for women?

Yes - this intake for 2026 will be a female only.

I’m travelling solo — will I feel comfortable?

Absolutely. Many of our guests join solo. Retreats naturally foster connection through shared experiences, group activities, and intentional space. You’ll be warmly welcomed into a like-minded community from the moment you arrive.

What is included in the retreat price?

Your investment includes:

• 7 nights of hand-picked accommodation
• Daily movement and wellness sessions
• Guided cultural experiences and excursions
• Safari and UNESCO site visits
• Most meals
• All group transfers within Sri Lanka
• Airport transfers on arrival and departure

Full inclusions are listed above for complete clarity.

What is not included?

International flights, travel insurance, personal purchases, and a small number of meals not specified in the inclusions.

Travel insurance is required for all guests.

What level of adventure should I expect?

Expect a beautiful balance. You’ll explore ancient sites, travel through mountain landscapes, and experience wildlife — but you’ll also have spacious mornings, restorative practices, and comfortable accommodation.

This is immersive travel, not extreme travel.

Do I need a visa for Sri Lanka?

Most nationalities require a visa or electronic travel authorisation prior to arrival. We’ll provide guidance once you book, but it’s a simple online process for many travellers.

What if I have dietary requirements?

Sri Lanka is wonderfully accommodating for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other dietary preferences. Please let us know your requirements when booking so we can ensure you’re well cared for.

You don’t need to become someone new to feel whole. You just need to remember who you are
