Most travel leaves you exhilarated but exhausted. This retreat is designed differently.

Over 8 days you'll move through Sri Lanka's most iconic regions — from the ancient rock fortress of Sigiriya to the misty tea hills of Ella and the colonial coastline of Galle. Each morning begins with yoga or pilates. Each day brings a completely new landscape, culture, and experience.

You don't just see Sri Lanka. You move with it.

    • Daily yoga & pilates sessions Morning movement every day — a mix of vinyasa, pilates, and breathwork tailored to your energy and the day ahead.

Frequently Asked Questions

THE EXPERIENCE

  • This Sri Lanka yoga and pilates retreat is an 8-day small group journey through five UNESCO World Heritage sites — blending daily movement with cultural immersion, wildlife experiences and deep rest.

This is not a stay-in-one-place retreat. Each day brings a completely new landscape, experience and energy.

You move through Sri Lanka rather than just visiting it.

  • This retreat is led by Courtney Chambers — founder of Holistic Escapes and a certified yoga and pilates teacher with over a decade of experience leading small group retreats across Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Bali and Sumba.

Courtney holds qualifications in 200hr and 300hr Yoga Teacher Training, Pilates Mat, Yin & Restorative Yoga, Breathwork, and Somatic Mind-Body Healing. She brings all of it into how she holds space on retreat — creating an experience that’s grounding, restorative, and genuinely transformative.

  • Each morning begins with a yoga or pilates session — a carefully sequenced blend of both, designed to regulate your nervous system as you travel. Sessions include vinyasa flow, mat pilates, breathwork and restorative evening practices.

Everything is designed to energise you for the day ahead and ground you at the end of it. All levels welcome.

  • This is not a traditional single-location Sri Lanka yoga retreat. While movement is central to every day, this experience also integrates pilates, UNESCO World Heritage site visits, a scenic highland train journey, wildlife safari, cultural immersion and genuine rest — across Sri Lanka's most extraordinary regions.

  • We balance guided cultural experiences with intentional breathing space throughout the Sri Lanka retreat. You'll never feel rushed or over-scheduled. There is time to wander, rest, journal and simply be — woven into every day alongside the movement and exploration.

  • Maximum 12 guests. This is a small, intimate group — intentionally. Small group sizes create deeper connection, more personalised movement sessions, and a more authentic cultural experience. You'll feel held throughout rather than lost in a crowd.

TRAVEL & LOGISTICS

  • Fly into Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo (CMB). This is Sri Lanka's main international airport with direct and connecting flights from most major Australian cities. We'll send full flight guidance in your welcome pack once your space is confirmed.

  • Sri Lanka is a welcoming and safe destination for women travelling solo. We have been running yoga and pilates retreats in Sri Lanka since 2015 and have never had a safety concern. You will be with a small group and guided by Courtney throughout — you are never navigating alone.

  • Most foreign passport holders can obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) for Sri Lanka online before departure — it's a straightforward online process. We'll include full visa guidance in your welcome pack. Always check the latest requirements with the official Sri Lanka immigration website before travelling.

  • Yes — comprehensive travel insurance is compulsory for all Holistic Escapes retreats. Please arrange cover including medical, cancellation and travel delay before your final payment is due. We strongly recommend doing this as soon as your space is confirmed.

ACCOMMODATION & INCLUSIONS
